Canvass the Town released On the Run, their successful debut EP in December of 2019. It was met with praise and was featured in an A&R Factory review citing it as having a “surprising melodic duality of vintage and contemporary.”
After having a quiet 2020, they will return with the single “Typical Burdens,” which will be available to stream March, 2021.
The single will be a part of their new EP of the same name which will be released in the spring of 2021 from PolyBrain Records. “Typical Burdens” is just one of many releases Canvass the Town has planned for 2021, one of which also includes a full length follow up to their debut LP titled Love Discorporated.
Canvass the Town is an east coast indie surf rock paradise inspired by the psychedelic music scene of the 1960’s. The bond shared by the band mates really comes through the music as each instrumentalist compliments the next. The deep lyrics and rich harmonies of the vocals are reminiscent of the Du-op era of the 1950s. The band features Jared Burnett on bass and lead vocals, JJ Giurano on guitar and keyboards, Unah Magaya on drums, Brian Dumont on pedal steel guitar, and Russel Anderson on guitar
